I don't know how this happened, but we're signed up for Primal Quest. Yes, really.
I know, I know. We don't have the experience or money to do this race. Teams much better than ours have dropped from it. I told the team that I'd rather wait. But my team is not afraid of failure, and we all know that this will be the race of a lifetime.
While we'll hopefully race hard races after this, we'll never be this inexperienced again, and I doubt we'll ever race a longer race. (I mean, after ten days, I think your point has been made.) We're sorely lacking in the experience department, but I think our team has a bond that trumps most of our challenges. I race with my wife, my buddy from high school cross-country, and my friend/neighbor/sponsor/superstar. Primal Quest will come in our third year of racing with the same roster; I don't know how many teams can boast that.
Long-term goals:
- Have fun, and stay friends.
- Complete an expedition-length race.
- Be a strong, fit, and cohesive team.
Upcoming races:
- Big Blue Kit Carson 24 hour
- Moab XStream Expedition
- Gold Rush 24 hour
- Primal Quest
